Since 2010’s radio friendly hit Whip My Hair, Willow Smith has completely taken her recording career and personal image into her own hands, dropping EP’s and singles at random and wearing whatever she wants. “I’m just coming to the spiritual and consciousness aspects of it,” she told FADER in 2014.

In early 2015, she uploaded the moody song Heart to her popular SoundCloud account. Now the 14 year old singer is back with her first music video in two years, the futuristic titled F Q-C #7. Willow wrote and produced the song entirely herself.

“Writing the F Q-C #7 video and bringing it into reality was one of the most exhilarating experiences in my life,” she said regarding the creation of the track’s clip, which feature the singer embodying different chakras and exploring nature as she’s, “climbing on trees and skipping my class now.”

Listening to the minimalistic offering and watching its partnering visuals reveal an increasing artistic depth in the wise-beyond-her-years soul musician. “My lyrics are probably what’s gonna be packing the most punch, and my tracks are in the background just coolin it, like, ‘Hear what she just said?’”
