Sketch comedy giant Saturday Night Live recently spoofed a sentimental commercial for the new Toyota Camry, which features a father giving his freshly enlisted daughter a ride to a military drop-off point.

In SNL’s version, above, the father (played by cast member, Taran Killam) transports his daughter (host and 50 Shades lead, Dakota Johnson) to an ISIS drop-off point. The result is not only hilarious but controversial, garnering mixed feedback on social media.

While ISIS is terrifying, I applaud Saturday Night Live for going there. Comedy is one of those rare forms of entertainment that works best without boundaries – as art should – and SNL proved so with this extremely relevant skit.
