Whether it’s a hot new hip-hop song from an up and comer or a promising preview of a new TV show that hasn’t yet premiered, here are 5 things I’m loving – and recommending – this week:
1. Shift K3Y’s ‘Name & Number’ music video
UK singer/producer, Shift K3Y, has been making industry waves across the pond since last year’s Touch and plans to continue that momentum with the release of his latest dance track titled Name & Number.
The slick, borderline R&B tune recently received ZacElla directed visuals, above, that feature the singer in a party setting, using social media as a flirting method. Who knew it was that easy?
2. The trailer for Eli Roth’s new horror movie ‘Clown’
I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a trailer for a scary movie that actually frightened me, until now. The upcoming Eli Roth directed horror film, simply titled Clown, will likely bring forth the scares as it uses everyone’s favorite nightmare bate, clowns, in a likely attempt to best Stephen King’s It and American Horror Story‘s Twisty.
The premise is definitely original. A loving father finds a clown suit for his son’s birthday party, only to realize the suit is part of an evil curse that turns its wearer into a killer. The motion picture was released towards the end of 2014 in select European countries and is even available on their respective iTunes stores, but not in the U.S. I wonder why? I want to see this!
3. ‘Who’s Gonna Get F***** First?’ by Father
If you’re a fan of Odd Future, you’ll love the Awful Records crew and their similar uniqueness. Father, the Atlanta based rapper, recently released a 12 track album titled Who’s Gonna Get F***** First? – available on iTunes – and I can’t get enough of its ridiculously catchy and NSFW title track. The LP can also be streamed in its full entirety on soundcloud.

4. TV Land’s new show “Younger”
Since ageism is such a relevant issue in America, I especially love the premise behind the new TV Land series Younger. After being mistaken for younger than she really is, a single mother (Sutton Foster) decides to take the chance to reboot her career and her love life as a 26-year old.
Series regulars also include Debi Mazer, Miriam Shor and Hilary Duff, so a good time can be expected. The show was created by the same person responsible for Sex and the City and officially premieres on the TV Land network March 31st at 10/9C.
If you can’t wait until then, watch the pilot episode early – like I did – on Hulu Plus. It’s great.
5. ‘Honey Dip (Go Periscope Remix)’ by Dev
Dev released Honey Dip last year – along with her Bittersweet July EP – and fans fell in love with the wonderfully edgy, love anthem. Fast forward to the present and the Go Periscope boys have given Honey Dip such a great remix, above, that you’ll almost wish it had’ve been released as the official single version of the track. Light, breezy, dance-inducing, this remix stays on repeat in my car.
