Avid Facebook user and video blogger, Frederick Wilson II, recently posted a video to his account, above, that has obtained viral status to the point that the clip has found its way onto YouTube. In his post, Wilson encourages blacks to work on correcting image stereotypes to change misconceptions that have led to police brutality and other negative racial oppressions in America.

As a young person of mixed race, I couldn’t agree more! People are quick to argue that the police and government are the problem when the majority of african americans we’re publicly exposed to have done nothing but perpetuate racial stereotypes.

The only way to inspire change is to work on changing public comprehension. If black people suddenly weren’t synonymously linked to crime and frowned upon behavior, judgement that has been thrusted upon a race of people might be traded onto the cops that committed the police brutality on said race.
