Braxton Family Values is one of my favorite reality television shows. I’ve been watching the cohorts of Toni, Tamar, Trina, Traci and Towanda Braxton since the very first season. I consider it one of my favorites because of the heart and truth the program possesses. Most shows of its type use the word reality loosely, but this one doesn’t seem staged or scripted. The five sisters used to be in an 80’s singing group together, The Braxtons, and are now presently filmed pursuing their own respective solo endeavors. Toni and Tamar have garnered the most commercial success, but Trina, Tracy and Towanda have all continued to pursue music related work. Realizing the potential effect a sisterly collaboration could have on the music industry has always personally upset me to the fact that it’s constantly being pushed aside due to creative differences, as witnessed on all 3 seasons of Braxton Family Values.
Then came a preview for the fourth season…
With tag-lines like, “they finally face the music,” it’s imminent that 2014 can expect a release from the family as a group. With a preview as dramatic as the one above, it still seems undetermined. Growing tired of waiting for actual news about a musical release even prompted me to air my frustrations to The Braxtons publicly via twitter. Not expecting a reply, I was elated to receive a response from Trina Braxton.
The amount of clout a wink face provides is uncertain but reads as a likely sign that the famous sisters have cooperated long enough to garner an impending group release. The mounting speculation has me increasingly excited for the fourth season of Braxton Family Values, premiering in August on the WE TV network.
